About Me

My name is Lindsay and I have two great passions in life: horses and crafting. With The Buttermilk Barn I’m combining the two to create handmade dolls and stuffed animals from quality materials for play and display.

Clover, one of my first horse dolls.

I’ve loved horses for as long as I can remember, though my parents say they bought me a My Little Pony at the age of 2 and it all went downhill from there. I cater to all the horse-crazy kids out there with stables full of imaginary horses that they gallop around the playground at recess because I was (and still admittedly am!) that kid. I’m now lucky enough to have a gorgeous, real life horse, to call my own named Daisy who inspires me constantly.

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fiber Art from The University of North Texas. Some of my favorite techniques include needle felting and embroidery, it’s like drawing and painting with wool! I also enjoy knitting and crocheting, as well as spinning and weaving. I try to incorporate as many of my skills into my dolls, making them one of a kind pieces of art work that is sturdy enough to withstand gentle, respectful play.

I hope my dolls bring you as much joy and warm fuzzies as they bring me.
